Art Takes a Vacation

I'm heading to Canada next week for the opening of an exhibition of the Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow project I did with David Caras, the photographer. The work is being shown at the Grand Manan Art Gallery on--you guessed it--Grand Manan, an island off the coast of New Brunswick. David and his wife Nancy Wagner are old and dear friends who've built two beautiful cabins on a spectacular piece of land up there. The exhibition will be a wonderful excuse to hang out with them, read like there's no tomorrow, and eat some lobster.

And then, at the beginning of August, Judy and I will head north again, to Rockland, Maine for the opening of a show of my paintings at the Carver Hill Gallery. Rockland, which was once a sleepy coastal village, has become something of an art hot spot in recent years.  Carver Hill Gallery.
